Substrate-mounted all-solid-state battery (ceramic package type)

Substrate-mounted all-solid-state battery (ceramic package type)

Through Maxell's unique technologies such as surface treatment, mixing, dispersion, coating, molding, and sealing, we achieve both high capacity and high output for all-solid-state batteries. By combining the long lifespan and heat resistance characteristic of all-solid-state batteries, we can adapt to applications that are difficult to address with conventional lithium-ion batteries. The ceramic package type all-solid-state battery allows for surface mounting through reflow soldering. *1 Despite being an all-solid-state battery, it has characteristics equivalent to our coin-type lithium-ion battery (size 927) with a rated capacity of 8mAh and a maximum discharge current of 20mA. *2 In accelerated testing at 60°C storage, the all-solid-state battery can maintain 90% of its capacity for 100 days, compared to 10 days for our liquid-type coin lithium-ion battery (size 927). *3 No degradation in basic characteristics such as capacity and load characteristics is observed with reflow at a maximum temperature of 245°C. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

What is a solid-state battery?

What is a solid-state battery?

All-solid-state batteries refer to batteries that do not use liquid electrolytes and have a separator layer made of solid electrolytes placed between the positive and negative electrodes. However, at this stage, mass production technology has not yet been established, and it is believed that full-scale commercialization will still take time. With the spread of electric vehicles (EVs), safety has become an important issue, leading to active research and development of all-solid-state batteries.

Case study of failure analysis of oxide-based all-solid-state batteries.

It has high safety and can be used in various environments! Consistent analysis is possible.

We will introduce a case where a series of analyses, from identifying failure points to cross-sectional observation, was conducted on an oxide-based all-solid-state battery that was destroyed during reliability testing. Heat generation analysis revealed a strong tendency for heat generation on the side, and X-ray transmission observation showed a white linear contrast anomaly near the boundary where heat generation was observed in the X-ray transmission image. It is suspected that some abnormality is occurring in the white line area. When CP cross-sectional SEM observation was performed on the area where the anomaly was visible, layer delamination was observed. It is inferred that delamination occurred between the current collector and electrolyte layers due to the positive (negative) electrode layer expanding and contracting repeatedly during reliability testing. 【Case Overview】 ■ Sample Information: Oxide-based all-solid-state battery that experienced degradation due to charge and discharge testing ■ Heat Generation Analysis Result: A strong tendency for heat generation was observed on the side ■ Other Analysis Contents: - X-ray transmission observation - CP cross-sectional observation and elemental analysis using SEM *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Vacuum packaging machine "for the automotive industry" parts rust prevention for EV solid-state batteries.

Introduction of vacuum packaging machines for the automotive industry: Ideal for bagging, long-term storage, easy operation.

- Industrial vacuum packaging is effective in preventing dust, rust, and deterioration across a wide range of scenarios, from production processes and storage to customer transportation, regardless of the shape, whether it be liquids, powders, or large components of nuclear reactors. - It is a vacuum packaging method that ensures high quality and low cost while minimizing environmental impact. << Vacuum packaging applied in the research and development of industrial products >> It is also used in the research and development of "all-solid-state batteries," a core technology for the next-generation electric vehicles (EVs) that are currently in the spotlight, providing high-quality vacuum packaging for industrial products. *For more details about vacuum packaging machines, please contact us.* ★★
